About Me

Welcome to Raiden Washington’s Museum!

It all began with Raidens parents taking him to see a Basquiat painting in person when Raiden was 4 months old and it continued on from there with Raiden in his high chair painting. Raiden was given art supplies every day while his mom observed him and when his mom was painting he observed her and helped out in her home studio with priming canvases, picking out brushes and at times adding his own touch to her paintings with and without her approval. If Raiden wasn’t accompanying his mom in her home art studio he was down the hall in his Dads Design studio touching various items that sparked his interests, often times just playing with different adhesive vinyl colors and staring at designs being made from start to finish right before his eyes.

Raidens parents shared a mutual love for Jean-Michel Basquiat, his Haitian decent was Raidens Moms favorite attribute as she shares that aspect being Haitian American while Jean-Michel Basquiat bravely drawing/painting on every and anything was his dads favorite attribute of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

As time went on my Raidens mom nicknamed him baby basquiat as he continued to accompany his mom to more galleries, Art fairs and museums. Raiden always asked questions about his mom's paintings and the paintings he saw on their adventures and wanted to be an Artist too. As Raiden grew into himself he began to develop an interest in animals and fell in love with the Wild Kratts show on pbs kids. As Raiden completed pre school he was a wiz at all things animals and gave a Jaguar presentation in kindergarten in which of course we did not need to do much research on. At this moment Raiden is adamant on being a zoologist, traveling the world and getting better at sports. In his own words he shared eventually he wants to study laws pertaining to animals so he can help them thrive. All proceeds from his artwork are going towards his Art & Education.

My Mission

To continue to develop as a kid exploring the world and create a series of Imperfect Animals to share and inspire other kid’s, adult’s and animals to be brave and keep going no matter how often their environment changes.
